If the customer answers YES
- Confirm the customer provided an explicit affirmative response.
- Record the mobile phone number.
- Record the consent date and time.
- Record the consent method as VERBAL.
- Record the script version used: 2026-10-19.1.
- Associate consent with the appropriate customer record.
- Send the SMS enrollment confirmation through the authorized messaging system. Do not send unrelated messages before enrollment is completed.
If the customer answers NO
- Do not enroll the customer.
- Record the declined consent when applicable.
- Do not send automated SMS program messages.
If the answer is unclear
Do not assume consent. Ask for clarification or leave the customer unsubscribed.
Withdrawing consent
If a customer revokes permission, update the consent record, disable further program messages, honor STOP requests, and prevent automated messages from being sent after opt-out. A withdrawal through customer support must also be reflected in the messaging system before further messages are sent.
